The purpose of meditation is to calm the mind, quieten the chatter and enter into a peaceful state.
I can help you with simple meditation techniques to practice at home, these could just be sitting quietly amongst nature embracing the sounds and smells, or using music to calm the mind. Anyone can learn to meditate and but it is through continuing practice that a lasting effect can be felt. By training the mind in this technique we are better able to withstand whatever life throws at us and better able to live a more positive and happy life.
Guided visualisation has been found to help in combating pain, relieving stress and can bring about a state of deep relaxation. I will ask you to close your eyes (if you are happy to do so) and relax and then I will talk you through a simple visualisation.
I will only introduce these interventions into our sessions if you feel comfortable for me to do so.
