The practice of mindfulness is about learning to live in the present, not worrying about the future or the past, in our counselling sessions I can help you do this by working with the five senses: Sight, Smell, Taste, Touch, Felt. I can introduce you to techniques to bring yourself right back into the here and now, by learning to listen to and understand your body, how it is feeling, what it is telling you and by using your five senses. The practice of mindfulness is extremely helpful in helping deal with stressful and upsetting events.
We may go outside and sit amongst nature, being quiet listening to the sounds around us, smelling the scents in the air, looking at the plants, trees, animals, birds, sky around us, feeling the wind, the cold or the heat upon us, just by doing this we can be wholly in the present the mind can be clear of worries future or past.
Using a combination of meditation, breathing techniques and paying attention to the present moment, mindfulness can help you change the way you think, feel and act.
